Hello everyone and welcome to Passport Soul: A travel blog, an outlet for sharing ideas, feelings and stories. A place to narrate both visually and by writing my experiences while traveling the world (or staying at home) and sharing thoughts along the way.

A journal for my life as a freelance ‘travel’ photographer with its ups and downs. It´s challenges and its rewards. Somewhere to try new things and push myself out of my comfort zone by discovering new ways of telling a story and commiting to do more meaningful and fullfilling work.

A place to share, connect and meet likeminded people and discuss about travel, life and everything that comes up on the way, together.

Basically, a space to think out loud and share this travel experiences and stories with everyone interested while challenging myself to write more, do more and take things to a new level.

Would love to create a bit of community around this and make everyone who read this blog part of the experience in some way, active participants and indeed a real and important part of the story.

This blog is a place to do crazy things that are on my mind as well as very common ones.

This blog has been on the phase of being an idea inside my mind for a very long time. One of those items forever in the to-do list. Many excuses along the way: work, time constraints, generic busyness, travels, getting everything prepared for it, the design, the tech part, finding a good name, thinking about how to do it, what to do, what to tell, thinking, thinking…

Basically thinking on how to do it the best possible was indeed preventing it from actually happening and becoming a reality. I wanted it to be good, wanted everything prepared for its launch, every detail ready. But then time was passing and passing and the blog was still not existing. So, at some point I realized, it´s never going to happen.

Its never going to be ready, its never going to be perfect, its never going to feel like the right moment. But the right moment is something that never arrives.

So instead of sticking to the idea of a perfect blog that would never happen or would never be good enough to be published. I decided to make an imperfect blog. One with it’s mistakes and improve and correct course along the way. Fail, experiment, have fun and grow along with it. Go for it, although it doesn’t feel ‘ready’ because would it be ready ever? I prefer an imperfect real thing than an imaginary perfect thing.

I still have many doubts on where to take this blog, what to do with it. Many exciting and challenging ideas on my mind, and lots of motivation that I hope will align once we get started and rolling with this. I was wasting a lot of time with things like its design, the name, the details which many would say are as equally important.
Anyway, I want to make this blog around its content, photos and stories so it was pointless wasting more time around those external things that were preventing its launch.

So what about Passport Soul? Haha. Ahh…the fatidic name of a blog. The holy grail, the most key thing in every ‘how to do’ a succesful blog article. To be honest I tried like a gazillion different names. Asked many, many people their opinion about several names and wasn’t finding clear answers or an unanimous opinion. To be honest, not convinced about it yet haha, but let’s make it happen. Let’s go with this one so we can get started haha.

Passport Soul because I want to think, feel, and experience travel in a more meaningful way than just crossing countries out of a checklist. A way of giving travel and our passports a deeper and more meaningful purpose than just going from point A to point B. A place to reflect about the meaning and real worth of traveling. Give our travels and passports a soul to feel, experience and grow. A way of incorporating a traveler’s attitude, the exploration call, the open mind, the will of being amazed and all the benefits of real travel to our everyday and “common” life. Giving a “travel” attitude to our souls.

So welcome to the blog. Hope you want to join this undefined (but exciting?) journey. Let’s see where it takes. Lots of ideas and excitement that hopefully will take an interesting path.
