We took off from Kathmandu airport in a small aircraft with propellers. Yes, it was a bit sketchy at first look haha. When we got some height and started to see the mountains far away I remember a really weird thing that happened. You usually have a preconceived mental image of where the mountains should be in the skyline, I mean there´s a line where you usually think the mountains are placed, right? Well, I clearly remember looking and having to lift my eyes up even more and more, and realise how ridiculously high those mountains were placed in the imaginary line of the sky… So weird and awesome. I guess it is how 8000 meter mountains look like haha.
So after some minutes we were flying through insanely big and magnificent peaks: “look that one is 7000 m, that one 8000 m”. Such a crazy and great experience. After some wait there it was: the incredible and famous Mount Everest. High up in the sky, looking down to the rest of the Earth. The pilot let us in the cabin for a little while and I could snap this picture of Mount Everest in front of us through the airplane´s cockpit (it
’s the one that looks more triangular in the far back a bit to the right). Memorable experience! Himalaya range is impressive. High five Nepal! What an amazing country.
